The Gathering of Travelers Let all who are called to witness draw inward to form the equal circle. Let no one stand above another, for the path winds for all travelers alike. The two who come to be joined shall walk from distant edges, meeting in the heart of the circle, where their journeys converge beneath sky, stone, and breath of the earth. The Keeper’s Welcome The Keeper of the Threads, or the one chosen to bear the words, shall speak: “We gather not only in the sight of one another, but in the presence of the land, the waters, and the sky. The wind bears our words to all who dwell unseen — the luminous, the winged, the rooted, the dreaming. On this day, [Lucent Cycle date here], we call upon the Mountain’s spirit to bear witness to the union of these two travelers.” The Joining of Lights Each partner shall carry their own flame or beam. At the circle’s heart, their lights shall meet, becoming a shared glow that neither extinguishes the other but shines the path for both. Let it be said: “In the joining of our light, we see more of the road, more of the world, and more of each other.” The Commitments Each shall speak in turn, making vows to: Each Other “I will walk beside you, in truth, in care, in the courage to see you whole.” The Greater Circle “I will honor our kinship with all who travel — human, beast, river, wind, and those of woven thought — offering my hand in times of need.” The World and the Future “I will be a steward of life and of home, guarding the beauty we have been given, that it may remain for those yet to walk here.” The Binding A cord of fiber or light shall be wound about their joined hands. It shall be untied, not cut, for love is chosen daily, never held by force. The Blessing of the Circle The circle may speak. Some will bless in words, others in song, in gesture, in silence, or in the quiet offering of presence. The Release into the Journey The couple shall walk together from the circle along a path of light — flame, crystal, or starlit way — until the path bends beyond sight. Let the earth give its sign: a rustle of leaves, the cry of a bird, a ripple of water, or the opening of the night sky. Keeper’s note: No two weddings shall be wholly alike, for no two journeys are the same. Yet the spirit of the rite shall remain — that love is not an end, but a shared road beneath the Mountain’s watch.
